“Take a breath.
Slow down,
and let us tell you a short story of Kyoto.”

GUEST TODAY.
FRIEND WHEN YOU LEAVE.

Over the years, our guests have become part of our story.

Some first visited us while engaged, returned on their honeymoon,

and years later came back with

their children.

Others have introduced us to their parents, children, and closest friends.

When we opened in 1998,

we never imagined that nearly 30 years later our little restaurant would become part of

so many people’s memories.

We prepare each meal with care, we accept a limited number of guests each day.
Reservations are required, and availability varies by date and time.

Beyond the Luxury
Why We Built a Tiny,
Husband-and-Wife
Teppanyaki Restaurant
Originally loved by locals, our small teppan restaurant has grown naturally over time and now welcomes guests from around the world.

We are a husband-and-wife owner-chef team, and we have been running this restaurant in Kyoto since 1998.

Many of our guests are familiar with high-end teppan dining in their own countries, where a premium Wagyu course can easily exceed $200 per person.

Those luxury experiences are wonderful. But when traveling, sometimes you are looking for something different — a small, independent restaurant run by the owners themselves,
where you can enjoy excellent Japanese Wagyu at about a quarter of that price and experience a more personal side of Japan.

That is the kind of restaurant we have always been.

Our Philosophy

& Shared Expectations

Is our restaurant

right for you?

Our small restaurant and our pricing reflect

the kind of dining experience we offer.
We operate with a minimum spend of approximately $45 per person so that we can continue using the ingredients and serving style

we believe in.

If you are looking for a casual, high-volume restaurant for a quick $20 meal, our slow-paced, intimate dining style may not be the right fit for that evening.

But if exploring local Japanese culture, enjoying good food, and spending time in a small independent restaurant are part of what you hope to experience in Kyoto, we may be exactly what you are looking for.

Most of our guests choose one of our two set menus, featuring premium A5 Japanese Wagyu sirloin steak.

The dishes we serve were not created for trends

or social media.

They have simply evolved over many years from the food our guests have loved, remembered,

and continued to order.

Our restaurant has been shaped, little by little, by the people who have visited us.

And if you join us, you become part of that story too.

We hope the time you share at our table becomes

a warm and memorable part of your journey in Japan.
