FAQ – Before Making a Reservation

To help both our guests and ourselves enjoy a comfortable dining experience,

please read the following information carefully before making a reservation.

Do I need a reservation?

Yes.

Our restaurant is reservation-based, and seating is limited.

Please make a reservation in advance using our official reservation form.

Can I walk in without a reservation?

We are very sorry, but walk-in guests are generally not accepted.

This allows us to prepare ingredients carefully and give proper attention to each table

When do reservations open?

Reservations open on the announced opening date at a calendar on our reservation form page.

There is no specific opening time, so you may make your reservation at any time during that day. From that date onward, reservations are accepted at any time as long as seats are available.

This policy was updated based on feedback from our guests,

to ensure a fair and comfortable reservation process across different time zones.

What kind of food do guests come here to enjoy?

Most guests choose one of our two set menus,

both of which include A5 Japanese Wagyu sirloin steak.

These sets bring together Japanese dishes that feel comforting and memorable —

the kind of food you would want to tell your family and friends about

after returning home from Japan.

Rather than being designed as a show or a trend,

each set has been shaped naturally over time,

by combining dishes that our guests have loved and continued to order

at our table here in Kyoto.

Is there a minimum spending amount?

Yes.

Our restaurant is best suited for guests comfortable spending around ¥5,000 per person or more.

This reflects the quality of ingredients and the style of dining we offer.

Do you accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian,

gluten-free diets, or allergies?

We are happy to accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free requests, and allergies when possible.

However, please note that we are a friendly, flexible restaurant, not a specialized dietary restaurant.

For this reason, we are unable to accommodate groups in which all guests require vegetarian or pescatarian meals.

We kindly ask all guests to be comfortable with a minimum spending of ¥5,000 per person or more.

Please be sure to contact us in advance to discuss any dietary needs before making a reservation.

About Gluten-Free Requests

We accommodate gluten-free requests, with important distinctions.

For guests with celiac disease:

  • Reservations must be made for a 5:00 PM start.

  • All accompanying guests must also choose the celiac-safe meal.

  • Please note that we do not always offer celiac-safe meals every day.

If we already have a regular (non-celiac) reservation at 5:00 PM,

we may be unable to accommodate celiac requests on that day.

For guests with gluten intolerance (non-celiac):

  • If cross-contamination is acceptable, a 5:00 PM start is not required.

Please be sure to contact us in advance so we can confirm availability and safety before making a reservation.

Will the chef talk to us throughout the meal?

We enjoy light conversation when timing allows,

but our priority is cooking and serving each guest properly.

If you prefer minimal interaction, please feel free to let us know.

Is this restaurant suitable for large groups or parties?

Our space is small and intimate.

We are best suited for couples, friends, or small groups who enjoy relaxed dining.

Is this restaurant suitable for children?

We welcome children who can remain seated and dine quietly with their guardians.

Please note that our space and service style are designed primarily for adults.

Our restaurant serves alcohol and was originally designed for adults to enjoy food and conversation in a relaxed setting.

In Japan, this type of restaurant is not typically intended for babies or very young children.

We understand that this may not be familiar to guests from overseas.

For this reason, guests visiting with babies or young children who may become restless

are kindly asked to make a reservation for our 5:00 PM seating.

Please note that we do not have baby chairs or child seats,

and there is no diaper-changing facility in the restaurant.

Most families who visit us with children are accompanied by children around 10 years old or older, who can enjoy the meal while seated.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain a comfortable environment for all guests.

Do you accommodate special requests or substitutions?

We do our best within reason, but extensive menu changes may not be possible.

Please inform us of any allergies in advance.

Is this a tourist restaurant?

No.

We are not designed as a tourist-oriented restaurant.

We are a local teppanyaki restaurant discovered by travelers who value honest food and a calm atmosphere.

How should I make a reservation?

Please make your reservation only through our official reservation form.

We do not accept reservations made by third parties.

I’m not sure this restaurant is right for me.

That’s perfectly okay.

Our goal is not to suit everyone, but to offer a warm, comfortable experience for guests who appreciate our style of dining.
