Do I need a reservation?

Yes.

Our restaurant is reservation-based, and seating is limited.

Please make a reservation in advance using our official reservation form.

How should I make a reservation?

Please make your reservation only through our official reservation form.

We do not accept reservations made by third parties.

Why is a reply required after making a reservation request?

Because we welcome only a limited number of guests each evening, we kindly ask you to reply to our confirmation email within 24 hours to secure your reservation.

If we do not hear from you within 24 hours, the reservation will be automatically cancelled so that we may offer the seat to another guest.

Thank you for your understanding.

Can I walk in without a reservation?

We are very sorry, but walk-in guests are generally not accepted.

This allows us to prepare ingredients carefully and give proper attention to each table

When do reservations open?

Reservations open on the announced opening date at a calendar on our reservation form page.

There is no specific opening time, so you may make your reservation at any time during that day. From that date onward, reservations are accepted at any time as long as seats are available.

This policy was updated based on feedback from our guests,

to ensure a fair and comfortable reservation process across different time zones.

Requests are not processed on a first-come, first-served basis within the first minutes after opening.

Sending the form immediately after midnight does not guarantee priority.

Will multiple inquiries or reservation attempts increase my chances?

We receive a high volume of inquiries and reservation requests on a daily basis, and we are unable to track or prioritize individual guests based on repeated contact.

Submitting multiple requests does not increase the likelihood of securing a reservation, and we do not give priority based on the frequency of inquiries.

Submitting multiple requests for the same date, repeating the same content, or using different names for the same group will not increase the chances of securing a reservation.

All reservations are handled fairly under the same criteria.

Is it guaranteed that I can secure a reservation?

As a small restaurant, we handle everything ourselves—from sourcing ingredients and preparation to service and closing.

Due to this, the number of parties we can accommodate each day is limited, typically to around 7–8 groups.

For this reason, not all reservation requests can be accepted.

We kindly ask for your understanding, and if you are comfortable with this, we would appreciate receiving your reservation request.

Why Reservation Only?

Every meal is prepared specifically for each reservation.

Advance booking allows us to shop carefully, prepare thoughtfully, and organize each day with the attention that a small restaurant requires.

For this reason, we are fully reservation only.

Why Is the Reservation Form Detailed?

Our reservation form may require a little more time and attention than those of many other restaurants.

This is because, with only a limited number of seats available, we believe it is important to confirm certain details in advance so that every guest can enjoy a comfortable and pleasant experience.

What seating times are available?

Our 6:00–8:30pm seatings are currently fully booked.

For inquiries made after the reservation opening date,

we will suggest available seating times.

The 5:00pm seating offers a relaxed early evening experience.

Our 8:30pm seating (last entry) is suited for guests who appreciate a later dining rhythm and an unhurried evening.

Why are reservation times staggered?

Our guests do not all enter at the same time.

We intentionally stagger reservations so each party can enjoy a calm and comfortable experience.

This also allows us to prepare each course with proper timing and care.

What happens if I am Late?

If you are running late, please contact us by email as soon as possible.

Without notice, we will hold your table for 15 minutes.

After that, your reservation may be cancelled.

Even with notice, if the delay is more than 20 minutes, we may not be able to seat you depending on the situation of other reservations.

Please Note

Kyoto can be busy and traffic delays may occur.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel your reservation, please inform us as early as possible by email.

During busy service hours we may not be able to answer phone calls.

Phone Calls

When the restaurant is fully booked, we may not be able to answer phone calls during service hours.

This allows us to focus on the guests currently dining with us.

For cancellations or if you are running late, please contact us by email.

Do you have a waiting List?

We do not operate a waiting list.

If a cancellation occurs, we do not contact guests individually.

Contact & Reply Times

Responses may be slower on our days off.

If you do not receive a reply from us within 24 hours, there may have been an email address typo or a delivery issue caused by your email settings.

In that case, we kindly recommend submitting your inquiry again.

About Our Restaurant

We are a small, home-style teppanyaki restaurant run solely by husband and wife.

From preparation and cooking to welcoming our guests and closing at the end of the day, everything is carefully done by the two of us.

We value not only the food we serve, but also the warmth of human connection. Many of our guests return to us over the years, and we are deeply grateful for the kind introductions and recommendations we continue to receive.

We welcome only around seven parties per day, allowing each guest to enjoy a calm and personal dining experience.

What kind of food do guests come here to enjoy?

Most guests choose one of our two set menus,

both of which include A5 Japanese Wagyu sirloin steak.

These sets bring together Japanese dishes that feel comforting and memorable —

the kind of food you would want to tell your family and friends about

after returning home from Japan.

Rather than being designed as a show or a trend,

each set has been shaped naturally over time,

by combining dishes that our guests have loved and continued to order

at our table here in Kyoto.

What does your pricing include?

Our pricing reflects more than the food itself.

It includes carefully selected ingredients, thoughtful preparation, the time devoted to each reservation, and the atmosphere of a small and intimate dining experience.

Pricing & Expectations

Our restaurant is designed not as a quick casual meal, but as a small reservation-only dining experience where guests can enjoy quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and unhurried time in an intimate setting.

Our pricing reflects not only the food itself, but also the quality of ingredients, the time devoted to preparation, and the care of welcoming each party individually.

Is there a minimum spending amount?

We kindly ask that each guest orders food with a minimum of ¥5,000 per person.

This applies to all guests, including children.

Thank you for your understanding.

Will the chef talk to us throughout the meal?

We enjoy light conversation when timing allows,

but our priority is cooking and serving each guest properly.

If you prefer minimal interaction, please feel free to let us know.

Is this a tourist restaurant?

No.

We are not designed as a tourist-oriented restaurant.

We are a local teppanyaki restaurant discovered by travelers who value honest food and a calm atmosphere.

Is Our Restaurant Right for you?

Many of our returning guests enjoy not only the meal itself, but also the slower pace, the warm atmosphere, and the more personal style of hospitality.

If you value dining as an experience — not only something to eat, but also time to enjoy — our restaurant may feel especially comfortable to you.

If you prefer a faster, simpler, or more casual style of dining, another restaurant may be a better fit, and we sincerely wish you a wonderful experience wherever you choose.

That’s perfectly okay.

Do you accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian,

gluten-free diets, or allergies?

We are happy to accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free requests, and allergies when possible.

However, please note that we are a friendly, flexible restaurant, not a specialized dietary restaurant.

For this reason, we are unable to accommodate groups in which all guests require vegetarian or pescatarian meals.

We kindly ask all guests to be comfortable with a minimum spending of ¥5,000 per person or more.

Please be sure to contact us in advance to discuss any dietary needs before making a reservation.

About Gluten-Free Requests

We accommodate gluten-free requests, with important distinctions.

For guests with celiac disease:

  • Reservations must be made for a 5:00 PM start.

  • All accompanying guests must also choose the celiac-safe meal.

  • Please note that we do not always offer celiac-safe meals every day.

If we already have a regular (non-celiac) reservation at 5:00 PM,

we may be unable to accommodate celiac requests on that day.

For guests with gluten intolerance (non-celiac):

  • If cross-contamination is acceptable, a 5:00 PM start is not required.

Please be sure to contact us in advance so we can confirm availability and safety before making a reservation.

Do you accommodate special requests or substitutions?

We do our best within reason, but extensive menu changes may not be possible.

Please inform us of any allergies in advance.

Children & GroupsBefore You Book

Is this restaurant suitable for children?

We welcome children who can remain seated and dine quietly with their guardians.

Please note that our space and service style are designed primarily for adults.

Our restaurant serves alcohol and was originally designed for adults to enjoy food and conversation in a relaxed setting.

In Japan, this type of restaurant is not typically intended for babies or very young children.

We understand that this may not be familiar to guests from overseas.

For this reason, guests visiting with babies or young children who may become restless

are kindly asked to make a reservation for our 5:00 PM seating.

Please note that we do not have baby chairs or child seats,

and there is no diaper-changing facility in the restaurant.

Most families who visit us with children are accompanied by children around 10 years old or older, who can enjoy the meal while seated.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain a comfortable environment for all guests.

Are children welcome?

However, please note that each guest, including children, is required to order food with a minimum of ¥5,000 per person.

Thank you for your understanding.

Is this restaurant suitable for large groups or parties?

Our space is small and intimate.

We are best suited for couples, friends, or small groups who enjoy relaxed dining.
